About Synhop
Synhop is a free daily word puzzle. Each day you get a start word and a goal word. Your job is to hop between them by chaining synonyms - one close meaning at a time - in as few steps as you can.
Why we built it
We love short daily puzzles that fit into a coffee break, and we wanted one that rewards vocabulary, intuition, and clever shortcuts - not just letter patterns. Synhop sits in that space: familiar if you enjoy Wordle or Connections, but focused on meaning instead of spelling grids.
The daily format matters. Missing a day breaks your streak, and each day's goal becomes tomorrow's start, so the year becomes one long word journey. That continuity is the heart of the game.
How Synhop works at a glance
Every puzzle has a start word and a hidden goal. You type a synonym of your current word to hop forward. After each hop, colour feedback shows whether you got warmer or colder relative to the goal. Reach the goal in seven hops or fewer to win.
You can play as a guest, or create a free account to save streaks, appear on leaderboards, and keep a play history. Synhop Plus is an optional subscription for unlimited practice, the puzzle archive, and an ad-free experience.
Who runs Synhop
Synhop is operated by NEECHE STUDIO PTY LTD (ABN 77 699 906 208), an Australian company. We design and maintain the game, the website at www.synhop.com, and related apps.
Word relationships in the game draw on Princeton WordNet 3.1, with additional validation when needed. WordNet is copyright Princeton University. Synhop itself - the daily puzzles, scoring, interface, and product design - is our original work.
